Room 104 only, Casa del Prado, Balboa Park In November, members present at the meeting will participate in the election of the 2019 board. Our demonstration will be by Jason Chan whose experience with bonsai spans over 13 years. In 2004, he along with his wife, Renee, founded Eastern Leaf, a store tailored to bonsai enthusiasts of all levels. Jason serves on the board of the Golden State Bonsai Federation and also served for two years as the editor of their quarterly bonsai magazine. Jason supports the local bonsai community with workshops at his nursery. He also holds demonstrations at clubs and botanical gardens throughout Southern California. He enjoys creating awareness of bonsai and hosts several kids bonsai workshops every year. When not spending time with his wife and two boys, you can find him at the Eastern Leaf nursery helping visitors learn more about bonsai. Jason will work on a prostrata juniper. Starting with raw material, he will share his thought process as he designs and styles it into a beautiful bonsai. During his demo Jason will also educate us on the basic points of wiring. |
