On Saturday, August 22, we will take a bus to attend The Nisei Week Japanese Festival. The Naka Memorial Bonsai Exhibition will be part of the festival, held in the Little Tokyo District of Downtown Los Angeles. This annual Japanese cultural event includes Japanese arts, entertainment, exhibits, food, and more. On the way to L.A., we will visit the House of Bonsai nursery to explore and shop for new trees and materials. The bus will pick up passengers at Balboa Park and at a freeway-adjacent location in Carlsbad.
This trip will be on sale at the July and August 9 club meetings as well as online.
The fee is $40 per person and the event is open to friends and family members.

Bus leaving at 9:00AM Inspiration Point North parking lot LOWER level. From Park Blvd, turn east onto President's Way then take the first right. Please park in the lower lot under the solar panels, see map. Be sure to pay for parking through 6 p.m. in advance or when you arrive if you are not pre-registered for parking as a resident of the city of San Diego. |
CARLSBAD PICK UP:
Bus leaving at 9:30AM Carlsbad Village Drive and Pio Pico Drive. Pick up is on Pio Pico Drive south of Carlsbad Village Drive next to the Shell station, see map. From I-5, go east for one block on Carlsbad Village Drive, turn right/south on Pio Pico. Park along the street by the park. |
