We are excited to announce that we are taking a trip to visit our friends at the Chino Bonsai Club for their 3rd Annual Exhibit in San Gabriel. The event will include the exhibit, a demonstration by David Nguy, a sales area, a dinner reception, a silent auction, an auction, and a raffle.
During the trip, we will also visit the nearby San Gabriel Nursery & Florist. This is their 100th year in business, and they have a Bonsai section as well as tools, supplies, and pots.
The cost for the trip is $20 per person for the bus for club members and guests. They are hosting us at their dinner, so we are asking members of our group to please bring items to donate to their auction or raffle if you can.
If you would like to join us, please contact VP Special Projects no later than Wednesday, October 4. Indicate the number of passengers and whether you prefer pickup at Balboa Park or Carlsbad. (Please park in upper lot at Balboa Park, not by solar panels – lower lot is locked at 10 p.m.) You will receive an email confirmation of registration by Thursday. Payment for your seat(s) will be due at pick-up before boarding the bus.

- 11:30 a.m. – depart Carlsbad pick-up area (Carlsbad Village Drive & Pio Pico Drive – Next to Shell station – park on street)
- 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. – San Gabriel Exhibit, Nursery, and Reception
- 10:15 p.m. – arrive Carlsbad
- 11: 00 – arrive Balboa Park
Please bring:
- Packed lunch or snacks for yourself (no food stop planned – dinner will be around 6:30 p.m.)
- Bottled water or other beverage– no glass containers
- Raffle or auction items to donate

Veterans Museum & Memorial Center, southwest parking lot. From Park Blvd, turn east onto President's Way then take the very next right and park in the upper parking lot.
