Bonsai-A-Thon at the Huntington

Saturday-Sunday, February 28th and March 1st, 2026
10:00 am to 5:00 pm, The Huntington Library, Museum and Botanical Gardens

SDBC Bus trip - Saturday, February 28th

San Diego Bonsai Club has planned our trip to the Bonsai-A-Thon, the fundraiser for the Golden State Bonsai Federation Collection at the Huntington (GSBF), on Saturday, February 28.  The Bonsai-A-Thon is the largest bonsai event in southern California, held at The Huntington Library, Museum and Botanical Gardens’ Brody Botanical Center in San Marino.  Registration for your seat on the bus will also include a complementary admission ticket to the Huntington.   In addition to The Huntington Bonsai exhibit, many activities are panned:  
  • Benefit drawing
  • Live & silent auctions
  • Vendors selling top-quality tools, pots and trees
  • Bonsai Masters styling demonstrations with auctions of styled trees
  • Saturday Only: Guided Tour of the Chinese Penjing Garden by Che Zhao Sheng

San Diego Balboa Park Pickup: 

Veterans Museum & Memorial Center/Inspiration Point,  From Park Blvd, turn east onto President's Way then take the first left.  The bus will depart at 7:00am from the upper level of the Inspiration Point North lot next to the Veterans Museum and Memorial Center, see map.  Please park your car in the upper lot, without solar panels.  Warning: The gates to the lower lot are locked at night and you will not be able to access your vehicle if you park there.

Carlsbad Pickup: 

 Carlsbad Village Drive and Pio Pico Drive  Pick up is at the corner of Carlsbad Village Drive and Pio Pico. next to the Shell station. From I-5, go east on Carlsbad Village Drive one block, turn south on Pio Pico. Park along the street.
