Baikoen Bonsai Kenkyukai

We have chartered a bus for our trip to the Baikoen Bonsai Kenkyukai 61st Annual Winter Silhouettes Exhibition. The Exhibition is held at the Los Angeles Arboretum and is a fabulous display of deciduous trees in their winter leafless form. Some will have flowers or fruit, and it's always a great way to study the structure of these beautiful bonsai trees. There will vendors on hand for some fun shopping. We have been invited to attend the reception dinner, enjoy the entertainment, and participate in the live auction and raffle.
Please bring along a dessert to share at the dinner and something to donate to the raffle.
We will have a stop along the way at another nursery/garden. That destination will be announced soon.
The bus trip is open to SDBC members and guests and the cost per person is $40.
The bus will pick up passengers at Balboa Park and at a freeway adjacent location in Carlsbad.

BALBOA PARK pick-up: Bus leaves at 12:00pm
Veterans Museum & Memorial Center/Inspiration Point, From Park Blvd, turn east onto President's Way then take the first left. The bus will depart at 12:00 noon from the upper level of the Inspiration Point North lot next to the Veterans Museum and Memorial Center, see map. Please park your car in the upper lot, without solar panels. The gates to the lower lot are locked at night and you will not be able to access your vehicle if you park there.
Return Drop off will be approximately 12:00am
CARLSBAD pick-up: Bus leaves at 12:30pm
Carlsbad Village Drive & Pio Pico Drive Pick up is at the corner of Carlsbad Village Drive and Pio Pico Drive, on Pio Pico Drive behind the Shell station.
From I-5, go east on Carlsbad Village Drive one block, turn south on Pio Pico Drive. Park along Pio Pico Drive just beyond the Shell station.
Return Drop off will be approximately 11:30pm
